Energy from Waste (EfW)
Generating energy from the incineration of household, municipal and clinical waste, minimises carbon emissions and helps to conserve valuable natural resources.
We work closely with EfW operators to optimise the efficiency of their plant and ensure they are able to meet the most stringent emissions targets.
Our calcium oxide (quicklime) and calcium hydroxide (hydrated lime) solutions are used as reagents for the treatment of acidic flue gas emissions. Ensuring they are free from pollutants that can harm people or damage the environment, before they are released into the atmosphere.
Expert Technical support
Tarmac Buxton Lime’s specialist technical team can help you:
- Identify the best solution to meet the specifications for new plant
- Optimise the efficiency of existing plant using data analysis (HCL, SO2, APCr analysis)
- Temperature & stoichiometric ratios
Circular Economy Solutions
With the ‘Circular Economy’ ambition coming into sharper focus for the Energy from Waste Sector, Tarmac Buxton Lime enable EfW operators to produce clean energy; emit clean air; and support the circular economy zero waste ambition.
Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA)
Working with strategic partners, we can also manage the treatment and recycling of Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA).
Air Pollution Control Residue (APCr)
We can offer Limbux hydrated lime customers a complete end-to-end service, including silo inventory management, and the removal, haulage, and treatment of APCr, which is carried out by Carbon8 Aggregates Ltd.
OUR SOLUTIONS
In empirical tests our lime solutions are proven to deliver lower residual pressure; lower plant emission levels and lower energy consumption.
Different treatment systems require different grades of lime to operate at optimum efficiency. Our Calbux quicklime and Limbux hydrated lime solutions meet the needs of virtually any EfW plant, including:
- High surface area
- High reactivity
- Particle size distribution
- Pore volume
CALBUX QUICKLIME
The Calbux range is of consistent high purity and available in a range of reactivities to suit any quicklime reactor or slaking process.
LIMBUX HYDRATED LIME
The Limbux range includes a comprehensive choice of high quality hydrated limes, including specialist grades to meet specific applications.
